Trendy Looks

With the whole hipster fad... should I even say fad because it seems like it is here to stay? Don't you think? I've been seeing so many interesting {to be put nicely} looks, but there are still some looks that I actually like. The whole trend has totally grown on me because about a year ago I wouldn't be caught dead in high waisted shorts and now I can't wait for summer so I can buy like fifty pairs. Anyways, there are some looks {especially Brandy Melville style} that are more hipster, but I actually like and I would actually wear GASP! These are my all time favorites and is it strange to say that I may or may not be trying to make these type of things my new style. And I wouldn't say this is hipster, I'd just say it's more surfer trendy. Ha ha, but I belong on California so whatever they're wearing there, I gotta have it.

This look is probably one of my favorites. Distressed LA shirt tied to the side with high waisted shorts--obsessed!
I actually own all of the things worn in this outfit. I have that skirt and bandeau from Brandy Melville and of course the white converse--I'm pretty sure everyone in the world owns white converse these days.
My idols Cait and Shannon Barker. Their style is amazing with graphic tees and high waisted shorts. Love it!
Obsessed with the light pink dotted dress and bandeau underneath. The polka dotted shorts and white tank are perf too!
I want a pair of shorts with those little pom poms so badly! I love these beachy whites.

XOXO, Kate

  1. The hipster style is usually not my cup of tea, but sometimes the looks are just so COMFY I can't resist! Love the pics!

    1. Yes I totally agree! I think the hipster style is best for summer, but preppy works all year round!

  2. Honestly, the only reason I started blogging was to figure out my personal style. My parents have always influenced me to dress very conservative and "clean." But blogging has influenced me to find a happy mix between boho (ex: Brandy Melville, Free People) and French chic (think Audrey Hepburn). I think it's so great you're doing what you like and experimenting with different styles. I can't imagine sticking to one "trend."

P.S. For the little shorts with the pom-poms, try DIY-ing it! they sell pom pom trim at crafts stores in every color. Just hand sew the trim onto the inside at the end of the the shorts!

    1. Yes--throughout this blog I have definitely explored my own personal style and I'm finding it to be somewhat preppy, but somewhat beachy as well. I think that having a few different styles is good because every person has many dimensions.

Also, thanks for the tips! I didn't even think of that! Such a great idea Majda!

  3. I really love the boho style! What's great about style is that no one is limited to one thing: sometimes I dress very preppy, but especially during summer, I love "going boho!" I'm so excited for hot weather so I can wear comfy dresses and shorts. Please come sooner!
