Time for a Detox

So Friday night I ate way to much. Like I'm talking way too much. And it was all junk. It was actually so bad. I ate donuts, a hot dog, an Izze, a Sprite, some rice cripsie treats, some brownie bites, pizza... Ok, it was just so bad and awful. I honestly can't believe I ate so much junk.

And ever since I ate all of this crap my stomach has been feeling a little odd. So I think it's time for a detox. I need to flush all of the bad stuff out of my system and start fresh. So here's what I'm going to be doing.

The picture says it all. Lemon water is my new thing! I'm going to be drinking it more often than not so that I can continue to rid my body of any toxins or bad food on a day to day basis.

Now let me just say, lemon water is not my favorite thing, but if it will help me stay healthy, it's worth a try. I think that this will help me feel a lot better and say in good health while the flu has been spreading around.

Have you ever tried a detox? Comment below!

Gif With It

So do you get the title? Gif With It. Ha I'm actually hilarious. So I've been recently obsessed with tumblr because I'm obsessed with California and I'm obsessed with any tumblr that shows the perfect life of California. So while exploring tumblr I've found some swag gifs to show you. I just think that all these gifs are just really cool so I thought it'd be cool to share them with y'all.

Take a look.

Friday Faves

So this week has been pretty stressful with random things. Drill has been stressing me out a lot recently since we're performing today at a spirit assembly. We finished learning our dance this week and then we had to clean the entire routine (clean: go through the entire dance and make sure everything looks good and sharp). And our coach just kept saying that it still did not look good. Also, it's hip-hop which is definitely not my strength, but I've been told by a few people that I'm actually good at this routine so I'm feeling pretty confident.

So wish me luck at my performance today. It's at the end of the school day and a lot of people ditch the assembly, but still I'll be performing in front of at least 3,500 people. It's a little easier performing at football games because the people are far away, but when we perform on the basketball court in front of the entire school, there are literally people sitting 5 feet from where I'm dancing. It's a little intimidating when everyone's eyes are directly on me, but I feel the adrenaline and it makes me a better performer at least.

So anyways, my favorites.

Gnarly Okay | I just stumbled upon this blog on tumblr and I fell in love. It is so perfect and love all of the California elements. I think that I'm going crazy because all of the things that I've been loving recently, are totally not me. But, that's okay I can be insane. I really like this tumblr and I think it's really gnarly (get it...ha).

Pasta | I'm not sure why I didn't love pasta before, but I really do now. I never didn't like pasta, it just wasn't my favorite thing ever. I loved buttered noodles as a kid, but now my favorite is pasta with a little butter, salt, pepper and some parmesan cheese. #delish. I especially love gluten free pasta. It just has a better taste and texture to it, I think, than regular pasta. But don't worry pasta will never replace my favorites: chicken nuggets and bruschetta. Gotta have em!

Those are my faves! What are yours? Comment below!

Fall into Autumn Part IV: Fall Makeup Looks

Hey. So I'm really sorry for not having a post up yesterday. I'm really not sure why I didn't write one. It sort of just slipped my mind (I write them the night before) and when I woke up I checked all the blogs I read (mine included) and I was like, "WAIT I DIDN'T WRITE A BLOG." But, I like all my blogs to be uniform and go up at midnight, so I just skipped out on yesterday.

I'll be getting back in the swing of things starting now. And I'll even be blogging on the weekend too! I feel like everyone has time on the weekend to be reading blogs, so I want to post on Saturday and Sunday. Anyways, let's get into this post.

So with autumn finally here (I mean basically), there's so many fun makeup trends that I've been loving recently. I think that fall is really the time to mess around with makeup and try out different looks. And try out all the dark colors that you've been wanting to (or not wanting to ha ha). I think that fall looks should be warmer tones and lots of brown, copper, tan and gold. There are more colors, but those are all I can really think of. Those shades are great on eyes for a fun look of color. I don't always wear eyeshadow (it's just so time consuming to put on), but when I do I go for warmer, darker shades, but that are still wearable in the daytime. I love using both the Naked and the Naked 2 palette, but I think for the fall the Naked 2 palette is a little warmer toned.

Mascara is simply a must for me and I think that lashes with great volume and thickness are totally in. I love the look of thick and almost clumpy lashes these days. I think that dramatic lashes look absolutely stunning on everyone. I love a ton of different mascaras, but my favorite brands are Covergirl, Maybelline and Urban Decay for mascaras. Definitely give those a try. Or if you're looking for a more natural look try the Covergirl Natureluxe. I wore it one day and my friend Aves was like, "What mascara are you using because it looks so great and natural!" I think it looks really pretty and doesn't clump.

And I'm loving dewy cheeks as well! Adalia just recently did a post about dewy blush and I absolutely love the look. I think cream blush is great for the fall and also cool to wear in darker tones. Reds, deeper pinks and even more brown-toned colors work perfect!

Can't forget the lips! Bold lips are so in! I've been seeing so many celebrities and YouTube beauty gurus buying and wearing so many fun lip colors this fall. I especially love the red lips trend. I don't know if I can pull it off, but I may have to try! I think that Revlon Lip Butters are perfect because they don't dry out your lips, but they add nice creamy color. Or the Clinique chubby sticks are great too! I've been loving red, berry, hot pink, and coral lips for this fall!

This just basically sums up my favorite looks for fall!

Quotes from Tory

One of my all time favorite designers is Tory Burch. If you know me well enough, you know that I'm obsessed with Tory Burch flats! I'm not really sure why, but my friend Paige and I are literally obsessed with anything and everything Tory Burch.

A while back I started a board on Pinterest called Tory. This is where I store all of my pins related to Tory Burch. While creating this board I discovered some really fun quotes from Tory herself and thought it'd be fun to share them with you!

I just thought that these quotes were really fun! Hope you enjoyed them!

Fall into Autumn Part III: Crushing on Cords

So cords are a huuugeee fall trend. They've really been on trend for the fall for a really long time, but they are just that great! Wait, have you ever noticed I start like every blog post with so. I'm sorry, I just do. But anyways, cords are like my favorite thing right now!

They come in so many fun fall hues and they are so comfortable. I'm especially loving the cords from Gap! I ordered mine online because I'm 5'8" so the regular ones at the store are too short! #tallpeopleprobs
I love the fit of these cords and the texture. They are super soft and I have already purchased 3 pairs from Gap! No surprise they're from Gap because I buy everything from there. Just this weekend I went and bought a new shirt, pair of leggings and workout shorts. Literally me.

These pants are just too fall worthy to pass up. I love pairing them with basic shirts and sweaters for the fall. I adore colored pants in general (I wore teal pants like every day last year--ask anyone) so cords are perfect. And these legging ones from Gap actually feel like you're wearing leggings (always a bonus)!

These are the 3 I have (the green ones are on the way)!

And if you go online to Gap they're having 35% off everything until 9/24! Happy shopping!

Friday's Photos

Yes! Finally! 'Tis the weekend! I am literally so happy! This week has been tough with getting up and my whole babysitting schedule. Monday I had a doctors appointment so I didn't go to drill practice (pretty happy I missed the insanity workout session until 6). And then Tuesday through Thursday I went to drill until 5:30 and then babysat for the rest of the night. It's been hard with not getting a ton of sleep, but I've made a ton of money so that's good!

So here's my week in pictures. Let me know if you want to see more of these! PS: I was inspired by Preppy on the West Coast to do a post like this. Check her out!

Chilling at the doctor's office taking selfies. Literally me.

At practice, like always. Hardcore dancing all day, every day.

Babysitting. That was like my whole week.

Typical after practice snapchot.

My new love. Gluten free pasta. SO YUMMY!

That's my week! How was yours? Comment below!

And I've got a football game tonight! I'm so excited to perform at halftime! Wahoo! I'm looking forward to having a fun Friday night though!

Fall into Autumn Part II: Fall Inspirations

Another post for the Fall into Autumn series is right here! I just recently started a board on Pinterest to go along with the theme: Fall into Autumn! Check out the board and follow me on Pinterest! Anyways, I've been pinning a lot of fun fall themed pins and I wanted to give you guys a little fall inspiration...so here we go!

Is this not the image of a perfect fall?

Honestly, I don't love fall (although my friend Aves is convinced that I was obsessed with it like last year--but I clearly wasn't), but this year I'm giving it a bit more of a chance. I think this year I've just been buying more fall clothes, etc. so I'm ready for it.

And...a fall haul is coming up soon! And an outfits of the week video too!

Fall into Autumn Part I: Camo Trend

Hey y'all! So today I'll be starting a new series called "Fall into Autumn"! I know the title is super cheesy and not very original, but hey, it fits! So in this series I'll be discussing a plethora of fall related topics. Today's topic is about fall trends and one that I've been loving recently. Camo print! It doesn't seem like something I would like, but I seriously love it!

So here are some of my favorite looks from my favorite new trend: camo print!

PS :: More fall posts to correspond to this new series are COMING SOON!

Leave any requests below!

Sunshine Award

Hello everyone! I am so happy that Hunter from Prep on a Budget nominated me for the Sunshine Award! Here's her post!

So basically you're supposed to include the photo of the sunshine award, but I opted to design my own to make it a little more fun. If I tag you feel free to use the image above for your post!

It was so sweet for Hunter to nominate me and here are the questions that I have to answer from her!

1. What is your favorite thing to do in the fall?
I love just hanging out in my house and being comfortable. I know that sounds pretty lame, but truly I do. And my mom always has candles that smell like pumpkin or cinnamon burning. And, of course shopping in the fall. Oh! And fall football games! So fun!

2. What is your favorite brand?
Probably J.Crew or Gap. I guess those count as brands. But designer labels I love Tory Burch and Joie.

3. What is the inspiration behind your blog?
Honestly I just kind of started it because it was something to do. I love writing and I love preppy fashion (most of the time) and I thought it'd be fun to start a blog. And I saw that an old friend (Frannie) had a fashion blog and it was just such a fun idea!

4. What is one interesting fact about yourself?
I've been dancing almost my entire life. I Irish Danced as a child for a long time and then after I quit I tried out for Drill Team (2 years later). But I haven't had a dance class since Irish Dance really. I never took ballet or jazz while I was older, I just taught myself a lot of different skills/technique.

Also I'm like bipolar with a ton of things. I'm bipolar with styles and music and people and food and literally everything. One day I love it, the next day I hate it or vise versa.

5. What is your favorite Starbucks drink?
Passion Tea Lemonade ;)

6. Who inspires you the most?
I think the television show of Gossip Girl inspires me SO MUCH. I am just too obsessed.

7. Who is your favorite singer?
I really like a lot of different music. Like I said I'm like bipolar with music so now I like love rap and I used to hate it, but now it's ma jam. But I really love Maroon 5. I guess they're a band, but that's okay. :)

8. What is your dream school?
UCLA all the way or really anywhere in California

9. What is one pair of shoes that you can't live without?
My Sperry's. I wear them every single day. I kid you not.

10. Who is your favorite designer?
I mentioned this already, but Tory Burch. Or Kate Spade.

Okay, so here are my questions for all the peeps that I nominate!

1. What is your most used piece of technology (phone, computer, camera, etc.)?
2. If you could change one thing about your appearance what would it be?
3. What always has to be at your desk for you to work?
4. What fall trend are you loving right now? (mine's camo print!)
5. Who's your blogging bestie?
6. If you could change where you grew up, where would you change it to?
7. What was the best thing about your childhood?
8. What's your current favorite tv show?
9. What is your must have makeup item?
10. What is something that you hoard, that you definitely do not need?

I NOMINATE: (supposed to nominate 10, but I'm only nominating 5)

Hope you enjoyed this post! And if I tagged you and you write a post definitely link it in the comments so I can see it!

Sunday Pinnings

My favorite pins from the week. I'm not really sure why, but I'm really not very into Pinterest anymore. I don't usually pin things like at all anymore. But, anyways. Here are some of my favorites from this week!

PS :: If you see on the right side of my blog there's a recent pin slideshow. I just added that and if you click on an image that you like, it allows you to pin it right away! Too chic!

Friday Faves

Here are some of my favorites for the week. Usually my favorites of the week are extremely random so just keep that in mind my friends.

BRANDY MELVILLE | I talked about this store in many posts. I went to this store while I was in LA, and let me just say, it was pretty cray. I was so looking forward to buying a ton of stuff from there, and ended up buying nothing. Life's pretty ironic, isn't it? I'll be writing a post about Brandy sooner or later and my outlook on it, but I really do like the store. I think that the clothes online are pretty limited, but I'm hoping to order some soon (if shipping wasn't so dang expensive)!

LAUREN CONRAD | So Lauren Conrad's website has always been fab, but I've randomly have been looking around on her website. I especially love this article that talks about the benefits of apple cider vinegar. Perfect in time for fall! I'm not an insane fan of Lauren Conrad, but I do really like her. My friends Aves and Pagina are literally obsessed with her though.

Here's a look at the article!

Comment below anything you'd like to see on this blog! And I'm looking for some guest posters! Email me if you're interested! No qualifications needed ha ha!

{still undecided about this whole "name change" thing}

I am an extremely indecisive person and I ALWAYS change my mind. Legit me.

Adios amigos! TTYLXOX (this post is legit so random)

Shoutout to Ma Girl

Hey guys. So many of my posts recently have been extremely random and stupid, but I wanted today to give a shoutout to one of my favorite bloggers out there!

I would like to acknowledge one of the kindest blogging friends that I have gotten the chance to interact with.

It is Caroline from VA is for Lilly Lovers!

She is actually the sweetest girl ever! I love that she comments very nice and helpful comments on a lot of my blog posts. Y'all should totally check her out and join her site (through google friend connect) because she is truly great.

Caroline, also I would like to thank you for always supporting my blog. You don't know how much I appreciate all of your comments, emails, etc. You are definitely one of my best blogging buddies! Thank you so much for all of your support and all of your super nice commentary.

Wednesday Wishlist (& Mid-Teenage Crisis)

Hey guys so today I'm sharing with you my Wednesday Wishlist. Some of the things are a little abstract, like things I just want but they're not physical products, and others are just random things I've been dying for lately.

Okay, so right now I'm in a mid-teengage crisis as I call it. I've been very unsure of my style these past few weeks and I'm definitely looking to change it up. I've been feeling more of the California hipster vibe lately rather than preppy. I don't know. I might give the style a whirl, but we'll see how that goes considering I have a preppy blog. Who knows?

Like I said I'm very confused about all this, but we will have to see. I'm extremely missing summer and I still watch things like from the summer (tv shows, youtube videos) and it makes me miss it even more. Maybe that's why I'm feeling like I need a more surfer style. I'm not sure. So a lot of these products are a lot more just surfer/California inspired. Anyways, here goes!

I left these pics smaller because they were blurry otherwise. This shirt is just far out and I love it. Los Angeles (the parts other than the freeways) is my favorite city! I've only been there once (and I may or may not be going there again!). I seriously wish I lived there and I just love this shirt.

These shorts definitely seem like a random item, but I think they look so comfy. I have really been wanting some Brandy Melville shorts for a super long time (I have yet to own anything from there yet, comment below if you'd like to hear my Brandy story/favorites, although I might write a post anyways) and these are just great. I think that they are really cute, although summer is coming to a close.

Gah! I want a polaroid camera so badly! And the actual camera itself is like so cheap, but it's just the film! Garrrrrrrr! The film is just so expensive that it seems worthless to buy the camera if I don't want to pay for the film.

So those are my Wednesday Wishlist items. Oh, and by the way I'm in the process of trying to change my name. I'm sick of Katelyn. I've just had it for too long and it's just so MEH. And I have like 50 classes with like 40 girls named Katelyn! So now, it's just Kate.

First Football Game

Friday was my first football game being on Varsity! JV was fun last year, but there's literally no audience. There's probably 30 people at most in the stands. But with Varsity, the stands are filled to the brim. Our uniforms were so hot. We got new uniforms and they are long sleeved and this does not go well with the summer weather. I'm sure once it gets colder we'll be happy to have them though!

I think we did a really great job and it was so much fun! I love doing all the sidelines and the people I stand by during sidelines are great. The video of us dancing is pretty blurry so I thought I'd just show you some photos from the night (using my quality camera). #imhilarious
